On my latest visit over I took time to try several "brekkies" to compare them, went to the usual venues that are mentioned on here Squires etc, etc, and I have to say that Nigel's breakfast up at Bistro Frere complete with black pudding wins it hands down !!

Have to say - I tried Squires this time and was impressed - nicely cooked and big mugs of tea. We used to use the Pit Stop but found it to be closed on a morning this time.

Cant believe that you get up early enough for brekkie Tony, but in Mogan, right on the Marina front, there is an Irish bar that does an incredible Irish brekkie. Worth trying, cant remember the name though! sorry! :have-fun:

I had a look at these but don't think this is the one they mean. It also has apartments for rent above it and if you were looking at the band stand in the square its to the left of it.

Hey Shortie,
The Irish bar in P. Mogan is the MARINA BAR. Allthough I have'nt had breakfast down there I've eaten there many times as the food is very good. For those who like a good fish and chips, the fillet of John Dory is excellent!!!

Yes, it is the first one, the Irish Tavern, though I had mistakenly said to Tony it was the other one. Remember it well from the pictures.
Thanks for the memory Steve. Need it at my age.

The Cottage down on Amadores does a good brekkie. I'm no vegetarian but their veggie breakfast is wonderful if you don't want too much or can't face the grease first thing.

Well viewers!
I personaly don't really eat "breakfasts" just a pleasant espresso on the balcony in the morning sunshine. But i was having a chat this morning with a few "nice" people whilst "sniffing about" as one does........
Now it has been confirmed that the "Terrazamar" in Puerto Rico are offering a "complete buffet breakfast" with everything, full english and a cold selection.Tea, coffee the lot!!! You "DO NOT" have to be staying in this hotel to eat the breakfast! You can eat "AS MUCH AS YOU LIKE" for 4 . 50 euros for Adults and 2 . 25 euros for children
and it is open from 08.00 until 10.30 ok?
Now i went "out of my way" to find this out for all of you holiday makers!!! aren't i nice to you viewers?
Marcus
:glare: (still sniffing about..........)

Many popular apartments are offering the buffet breakfasts now, and am reliably informed that colina mar and rio sol are worth a visit, with marina suites getting best reports, really is good there. Nigel does a good breaky at The Bistro Frere , if you are in the centre, Le chef must be doing good breakfasts still, big craig, as they seem very busy in the mornings, but John's now at extreemz, and is still a good crack!

On our latest trip over to P. Rico to our dismay Nigel, up at Bistro Frere no longer opens for breakfast. Bonus is Murphy's Kitchen run by Scruffy Murphy's is doing a fab Irish brekkie with all the trimmings, white pudding too. With a pricetag of only 5.5 euro's including fruit juice, toast, tea/coffee and a very generous serving, Nigel you have competition on a grand scale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have Dutch friends and they certainly don't eat chips for breakfast; theirs is geared more towards continental with cheese, hams and rolls.

Probably it's for the "chips with everything" Brits. They're served in the Balearics too.

Hi all, I remember seeing Henco's beach bar while we were down at amadores. Not really our cup of tea!!, What I recall about it was the same big chap sitting at the same table from morning to evening with his biddies drinking away all day long!! He never moved from the same spot, not sure if he's the owner???

We mostly ate in Monet while at the beach and have to say their food was scrummy! Nice big mugs of tea too !!

Also the dive centre down at Amadores,Sunset Divers, where gar did his course did lovely lunches! We were spoiled!!

Looking forward to returning in late sept/early october, counting down the weeks!!

Best breakfast is on my balcony all from the supermarket, fresh orange juice, muesli with a piece of chopped fresh fruit, plain yoghurt and honey, fresh black coffee, sometimes have croissants or bread with apricot jam instead of muesli. Only have cooked breakfast on last day at, dare I say, Barbacoa and if we stay 2 weeks have one at the Pit Stop in the CC mid week.

My friend who I go on holiday with, who's Scottish, makes proper porridge and has a massive bowl full.

Barbacoa no longer do breckie - Pit Stops shut. Looks like its breckie on the balcony all week for you!! Flicks in the Europa do a nice breckie and you can pick and mix to your own tastes - Izzy can have it after her porridge!

agree with Squires well if you pick and mix instead of the set ones , hash browns x 2 sausage x 2 and black pudding always goes down well with me :D:D

Had breakfast in Squires a few times over the last fortnight ( sorry Tony & Flick's ) and I must admit it was very good and non-greasy.
The number one, is ideal if you don't want ( huge ) in yer face. Number two is a good plateful. I only had that once.
As Bluemoonsteve says, you can mix and match your own, if you are a 'Big Tony'....no offence Big Tony....Big Breakfast, then up the stairs, into Tiff's to watch the rugby. Sounds good for a Saturday.

A good breakfast which set us up for the whole day. No need for lunch and the appetite is great when going for dinner at night.
Normally my appetite 'es poco' when on holiday in the sun. Not this time!!!
Squires for breakfast and La Taberna in the evening...superb
