My wife and I went for a meal at Siete Islas (hope spelling is correct) on new years eve. We were told in advance that there would be a surcharge of 25% on top of the bill as it was a special night. We accepted this. Service was very slow, meal was average and priced similar to many other restaurants. We were charged €4.85 for a small beer and when the surcharge of 25% was added, it came in at €6.06 plus 5% tax = €6.36
Did anyone pay more for a small beer in Puerto Rico? Drink prices in Norway sound cheap when compared with this. We did not specify a type of beer, so we assume that it was a local beer, certainly tasted like it. The normal price of a small beer at other times would for would have been €4.85 + Tax = €5.09, still outragous in my opinion.
This restaurant is located at the main commercial centre on the top floor, right-hand side (When viewed from McDonalds end of the centre)

the places that rip off people like this should be avoided at all times.
then see what they will charge when everyone stops eating there.

I agree very cheeky, but i find this in most places ,
On these islands we need to drink a lot (water for me and sometimes sangria and wine) They take advantage of this on us. But when you think of the high rents the bar owners have to pay . It is understandable. But (some) get too cheeky with it, as i found out at LA CICALA on mogan beach 2.75e for a bottle of water. So when youve been stung once you dont go back.

Just back from PR today. Something new we discovered was in one of the Buffet Style Chinese Restaurants. €6.95 for adults and €3.50 kids, eat all you like. Of course drinks were expensive,as expected, but to discover that anybody over 8 years old was considered an adult came as a shock even to travel weary me!!!! (Only finding out when we got the bill of course)
BEWARE:angry:

We have just got back from pr this morning and we went to the Siete Islas on our second from last night and found it reasonable as hell! We got a beautiful sirloin, a pizza, two kids meals, one large beer and 3 soft drinks all for the excellent price of 23 euros! We couldn't fault the meal, it was lovely and we found the service quick and efficient.
