Hey, this is my first post on here.

I'm going to Las Palmas in september with a friend and I'm looking for a job, pretty much anything I can get. We already got an apartment in central LP for a month to start with and we'll stay longer if we can get jobs, so I'd appreciate if anyone could give me any tips on where and how to find one.

Thanks
David

Most people give the same advice on here - you need to be on the island for starters, do plenty of door knocking and being a spanish speaker would be a definate advantage.

You'll have more choice in LP than someone looking for work in one of the holiday resorts. It depends what skills you currently have also as they may well be in demand.

Hotels will be your easiest option. Not much english is spoken in LP but receptionist have to speak at least 2 languages.
What sort of things were you thinking of or are skilled in

okay, well I speak most of the nordic languages, english obviously, german and im okay at spanish and french. I'm good at handling people and I'm also a musician, I play guitar, piano and sing. But I'm just looking for anything that will get the rent payed for starters.

Those languages will be a HUGE help and if your okay Spanish is conversational without any major problems in understanding or making yourself understood then you should find it very easy to get a job there. Look along Las Canteras as it's a popular nordic holiday destination.
