Dont feel guilty leaving your kids, ( It will do them good) And give them a sense of independance. (You will cry buckets when they finaly leave home for good.) But they need to get used to now and again, fending for themselves,( Ready) for the day when they really have to go out in this world and fend for themselves alone. 17 is a good time to start, and given some responsibility for the younger one, so they dont get into mischief.
Just stock the freezer up and ENJOY YOUR BIT OF FREEDOM. (And tell yourself )you are teaching the older one a valuable lesson in life about what responsibility means, We have to do this for our children in life, it hurts to let go, And it hurts to be strong on them. (But its a must do) For the childrens sakes. So relax and enjoy your second honeymoon. There will be children about everywhere, Even when yours have finaly left home for good. Thats life.

I remember leaving mine just about same age as yours...although gran was on hand to referee!! Just don't keep phoning home, you will hear anything soon enough.

I will be over...again (3rd time this year) in 5 weeks and I am leaving husband at home and bringing my sister, can't wait!:have-fun:

If you can leave dogs in kennels and cats in a cattery surely you should be able to leave kids somewhere. Maybe we've discovered a niche in the market? Anybody up for looking after someone elses moaning, screaming kids? Some may need to be muzzled.
