View Full Version : Cheapest Bar in PR?

I know that there is another thread for everyone to enter their top 5 bars but this a little different. If you want vibrant music, live entertainment and/or live sports then you expect to have that included in the cost of your drink. What if you fancy a quick beer before dinner? You don't go into snoopy's or black and white because (if they are open) the drinks will still be quite dear even with no entertainment. My vote goes to Bar Caribe (opens at about 6.30) which is located between the two bars mentioned above about half way up the commercial centre on the left as you go uphill. on the top foor. Beer there is €1 a pint!! :boozy: Becks, San Miguel bottles are €1.50 and although you won't get fancy cocktails, spirits and mixers are generous and cheap.
As I say you don't get the fancy trimmings but is there anywhere cheaper to sink a few beers?

The Venue is at the back of the commercial centre, top floor, next to SHAZ FUNNYBOYS drag show bar. If you walk through the centre to the back, look up to your left and you will see a Chinese on top of the steps, just around the corner is the Venue bar. Run by LOL + ANN. and around the corner to this is M+Ms bar.

If you go to the venue, you will find about another half dozen pubs in that area where you will get a pint for a euro and you will have as good a time up there as you would going to most of the more expensive bars.

TIFF'S,
For all the fun and entertainment free , Tiff's is the cheapest local,Tropical lager at 1.5 euro a pint has to be the best. No good sitting in some dumb bar just to penny pinch whilst on holiday. I do appreciate some people are on a budget but for a couple of cents here and there, come on !!!!!!!!!!!!!

The cheapest bars are at the back of the CC where the Crow's Nest is. It's known as Euro Alley because of the price of a pint but some are as cheap as 90 cents. Where all the workers drink.

TIFF's for me to. You are always guaranteed a laugh in there, no matter what time of day you are in, but especially around 5-7pm as you always get Klaus, Mike, Gary and company in at that time. The banter is great.:thumb:

Buddys Bar at the back (across from Ollys Fish and Chips) doesnt seemed to have got much of a mention, not only is it 1 euro a pint they do cheap coctails too!!!
Plenty of room to chill but if you prefer there is a pool table and karaoke most nights,i sometimes get dragged in there to watch the match on the Big Screen too but i dont kick and scream too much when i got the best fish and chips in Puerto Rico in front of me lol.......
Pay Buddys a visit !!!

Went in to buddys bar but it is a bit of a mans bar if you know what I mean. Few women in but a few strange looks from them. Hubby had a go at the Karaoke. Three songs in less than 15 minutes he done, then we were on our way to the next bar. Bit out of the way and at the cold end of the centre for me.

Is bar caribe still open? When we were last over in Aug 2010, Rene was thinking about selling it or something along those lines, it would be nice to know if he's still there.

If you're going strictly by the title of the thread, there can only be one winner. Love it or hate it folks M&Ms is and always has been the cheapest bar in PR if not the island. Even when they owned Sinatras going back some years they were still the cheapest. Agree with what has already been said about it being like the bar in Star Wars but it's good entertainment at times.

well xtreeemz is 95c through the day till 6- 6.30, then its 2 pints for 3 euros, 5 euros for carling (x2) all good stuff, not that we drank too much haha, amadores has plenty of bars through ther day for 1.50 euros, so basically its pretty easy to search out cheap beer prices, though generally I think the prices are good pretty much everywhere
