Is there such a thing as a bar or club that plays slightly heavyer music than shakera? Just wondering if its just the Hard Rock cafe or if they're some other bars out there. Never been before so don't really know what to expect????????????????????????

I presume by the lack of replys either there isn't anywhere that plays rock or else no one likes it.

I'm not meaning heavy metal, just if there's some cool bars with a chilled out atmosphere that isn't playing either chart holiday tunes or dance music.

I'm staying in Maspalomas, but everyone seem to be saying the it's v quiet there and most nightlife is in Playas. Thanks for responding tho:D

There's a Hard Rock in Playa del Ingles http://www.hardrock.com/locations/cafes3/cafes.aspx?LocationID=448&MenuID=15&MIBEnumID=3 but it might not be a "chilled" atmosphere!

Dont worry mate, Maspalomas is a fews minutes away from Playa Del Ingles so even tho its quiet in maspalomas, your only like a stones throw away from all the action!!! When is it your going to Gran Canaria? x

I'm going on the 3rd July for a week. I'm not worried about being in Maspalomas and it being quiet. I was just curious what its like. I'm not a big fan of dance music so just trying to find a few places that are nice and chilled out.

Am sure I'll end up trying most of the bars and a couple of clubs. Its my first time in the canarys so will be a bit of an adventure.:confused:

There is a heavy rock/metal bar in the Kasbah (in pdi) called Turbo Pub.

I'm assuming it's still there.

Oh and just remembered there is also H Rock under the koka hotel, it's nothing to do with Hard Rock Cafe. Its an american theme bar/restaurant with Harley Davidsons etc They do good food and play rock music and have tribute bands.

Don't know if it is still there but the above bar located in the CITA centre basement level was fantastic a few years ago,full of 70's rock memrobilia with all the classic tracks playing too. Place changed hands about 2 years ago and was gutted and remodelled, seemed to had lost it's atmosphere to me when I last went in there, but it still blasted out rock music !!!!!!

THE ONLY DECENT BAR IN PLAYA IS TURBO IT IS FANTASTIC , GREAT ROCK MUSIC AND ATMOSPHERE. ITS IN THE KASBAH TOP FLOOR ITS SMALL BUT LOUD !!!! ITS THE ONLY PLACE TO BE - DONT GO BEFORE TEN O CLOCK THOUGH, :angry:
