Is this still open? We went there loads on our last trip but it was closed for the last two nights which seemed strange. We are going back in April and I would love to go there again :happy:

Yes the Cactus Bar is still open, went there in Sept every night and had a great laugh with Paco, he sure is a character. Nothing was too much trouble drinks wise, we put him to the test cocktail wise and he always came up with the goods, and a lot cheaper than others. Go there and he will keep you entertained. I'm glad its still open we had a great time there when we visited. You are deff right about him being a character. Its a credit to the guy when he can fill the place without a PR trying to get people in.

I like it yeah. Its just a nice quiet bar with no loud music and no annoying PR's trying to get you in. The guy who runs it (Paco) makes an effort to speak to everyone and have a laugh with them. The drinks are good value too.

All you have to do is follow Paco's rule.....'please do not p**s in the corner' :grin:

Upper floor of yhe CC libbyo. Went passed it a few times, have heard it mentioned but nrver been in yet. Maybe next time.:banana: :banana:

Given that this tread has not moved for a three years plus, I must ask the question,

Is it still open and is Pacco still running it and remember, "Don't **** in the corner" as the man would say every time you went to the toilet.

Spent most nights in Bar Cactus, price's very much the same as a couple of years ago, now only Paco there as it is quite and he had to let the staff go.

Still open 7 days a week and a very enjoyable start to an evening.

Got back a couple of weeks ago, Paco was on top form, a great guy.

As always, pre drinks were in BAR CACTUS, give it a try, you won't be disappointed and remember "don't **** in the corner"

Does anyone know if Paco has started serving Tapa's, at Bar Cactus ? the last time i was over he was speaking about it.

Happy memories of this bar and the lovely Paco. He kept the place spotlessly clean and he's a one man wonder - no matter how busy it used to be he knew everyone's turn to be served (and he still had a chance to clear glasses away)!

Sadly we haven't been to PR since 2007 as the flights from the Northwest always seem 1. too expensive, 2. the wrong day/time for us and 3. we've found cheaper flights/accom in Lanzarote.

Agree with all the comments in that he is a lovely man.

Peeing in the corner
Sometimes not having a clue what he is talking about and just politly nodding.

We will be there in 10 days and can't wait to see him & the rest of the PR faces
