mayaguez apts

just booked a holiday to p.r staying at the mayaguez apartments, does anybody know what there like or even where they are? all i got from brochure was 'close to beach and shopping centre' So any info would be great. Thanks!

They are just near La Cascada, there is a link to maps on the search page of the website. Good location for beach, 3 supermarkets nearby, small pool, but look quite clean.

hi will let you know in about a weeks time got 2 apts booked and going on the 08/01/2006 so hope its as good as people say:boozy:

just back a week ago from these appts ,have to say not a bad appt block,very small only 15 appts ,rec only opened 09.00 to 12.00,didnt see the budget rep at all for the week.Now the good points ,you can sunbath on the roof most of the day, plenty of sun beds,pool small but ok ,we got 2 rooms both had every thing you need + we got a toaster ,kettle,and micowave+ there was a large fan for the warm days , most appts charge you for these things but they were free for the week we were there,the safe was 14 euros for the week.The maids came in about 4 times in the week,changing the towels and leaving towel rolls,have to say ,most appts leave 2 rolls and you have to buy the rest yourself and with the change of food you do need plenty of bog rolls.If you like the beach you walk over the bridge next to appt and you are at the beach,walk down the road and you are near the centre not much of the hills, we did enjoy are stay only the weather 2 days of rain,also there is some noise from the main road next to the appts.

Stayed there about 5 years ago and was very dissatisfied with it. Believe that is was refurbished since then.
All of the positives have been expressed by the others above and I agrees with these.

Negatives:

Very near a busy road so lots of road noise. (maybe this improved since the motorway has diverted some of the traffic away )

No sunshine at the pool area as it is shaded by the apartment block till evening-time. Maybe this is not a problem in summertime when the sun is higher in the sky

Very dark in the lower floors particularly in the bottom floor where we stayed.

Recommend that your request the highest floor possible which will reduce road noise and increase light. You will also be nearer the exit which is on the top floor and the roof where you sun-bathe.

We were delighted when we were able to transfer across the road to the Barlovento after 2 sleepless nights.
