As well as the traditional 3 King's Festival in Las Palmas there is also one that takes olace in PDI. On the 5/1/06 leaving Yumbo at approx.5-30 pm. I saw it last year in PDI at is lovely. Obviously the one in Las Palmas is bigger & better but it is well worth watching especially if you have children. ( I am just a big kid!!!)

We go to Santa Brigida where the 3 kings walk through the streets on their camels and then the kids can go and meet them
In Las palmas all the shops in Triana start their sales at the same time, so its a good time to get a bargain too

As Angie says it is well worth making the effort to see the procession especially if you have children. The three kings have sacks of sweets mounted on thier camels which they throw out in handfuls to the very excited kids. The shepards also have a real flock of sheep and the manger is pulled along by two huge oxon. Also many other themed floats go by. It has a real Xmas feel about it all. What a shame all these values have been diminished in the U.K. After all Xmas is a religious celebration that sadly in the U.K. has become a commercial over exploitation in recent years !!!!!!!!

Reyes Magos or 3 kings is on the night of the 5th January. It is the equivalent of Christmas Eve. It falls on epiphany or twelth night.
I always have a quandry, wether to keep my decorations up (like the spanish) or bring them down (like the english). Its very hard being superstitious when the country you are in has diffrent or opposing superstitions!!
