When do the apartments in Puerto Rico start taking bookings for New year? I've been through the numerous accommodation websites, alpharooms, octopus, medhotels etc. and there appears to be very limited availability for this time. Lots for PDI, Maspalomas etc but not much for PR. Can anyone enlighten me?

that mainly due to the fact they are all ready booked up, new year and xmas gets booked up as soon as the previous year is over , it looks like you will haveto see whats available and go for them dont hang around or you will not get anywhere

I booked my xmas and new year hotel in March this year and had been keeping an eye on alpharooms etc - their availability even at that stage was going down daily. Try Owen via www.islascanariastours.com (http://www.islascanariastours.com) if you have specific dates in mind. Presume you already have your flights booked?

Personally, I don't like P.R. at Xmas and New Year. Last time I was there for that 2 weeks was 1999. Everywhere we went we had to queue. Every night there were queues outside most of the restaurants. You either had to eat at six o' clock or wait until around ten o' clock.
The following year we arrived in P.R. on Jan 1st. This fortnight was just as bad for queueing, so now we go for the second two weeks in January and don't have to queue, at all.
One of my pet hates is queueing, for anything.

Panicking now. Seems like I've got a straight choice between the Omar and the Roslara. Any advice as to what's the best.

agree with bluemoon its almost impossible to get accomadation now for xmas, but another website for you to try is www.broadway.com (http://www.broadway.com) i was on it last week checking december and they had a good few apartments for pr for xmas and new year including the lovely marina suites,we stayed there last year with this company and had no problems they have flights as well or packages, best of luck.

Roslara is nearer the Europa. They have live music etc by the pool on a Sunday where most of the local Brits go.

Thanks everyone. Managed to book the Omar through www.travelrepublic.co.uk (http://www.travelrepublic.co.uk) , so quite relieved. I gather PR is rather busy at New Year then?
