Hi Wayne,

The number for Eden is +34928560215. If you are trying to book a room direct I am afraid they will tell you to go through Thompsons.

Im off here on saturday, i booked it today, got 2 weeks for £600 for 2.
Just a bit concerned after reading some reports on it, saying its full of cockroaches and its permanently getting robbed, the safes even get robbed! is this true?
i read that someone has been here and returned, if this is the same place, any info please?
Also how long does it take to get to the main centre of puerto rico from there and to the beach?
Although this Europa centre sounds good from what you lot have said and thats apparently only 200m away.

Hi got back from the eden just over a week ago, had a great time only seen a couple of cockroaches in 2 weeks on the way back to the apartment but it was around 3:45am :boozy: never heard of any 1 getting broke into either think this is a thing of the past (was it a old review) we have stopped in these apartments approx 8 times & never had any problems or things going missing, the beech & main center are just a taxi ride away approx 3 to 5 mins costing 3 euro. hopefully you will have a brilliant time & the staff a very friendly and helpful. any more worries feel free to ask .
P.S
If your walking past turbo's in the europa 1 nite just let any of the staff know wayne & gerry said hi & see them in 8 weeks  ,
jordan if your there now :banghead: neil the pr round the head for me

eden apts are a really good thomsons holiday if we all believed half the stuff that goes in to some of the reviews we would never go on holiday.
someone elses hellhole may be your heaven and vice versa so go on holiday and enjoy.

Thanks for your replies, the reports are from last year and back.
Youve made me feel a lot better.the reports are from www.realholidayreports.com (http://www.realholidayreports.com) and some of them are quite bad.maybe you should all put on a report each because people who read them are going to be put off! As long as its clean and safe im not botherd.
What are the safes like? are they removable? its just i dont know whether to get euros or travellers cheques now.

It's personal preference really. As I'm sure you know T/Chqs are safer as if lost they are insured and will be replaced. me, I can't be bothered changing them , I take currency and lock it in safe. I also take a debit card (for cash machine) and credit card for any perfume, duty free etc. it is a good idea to tell your bank's card services dept where you will be and when to aid any security checking. Have a great time! I'm just home from Turkey but will be back in PR 11 weeks time

Hi
the safes are very strong with a double turn key lock mechanism & out of public view & bolted to the wall or floor,
some thing i always do is on the key ring to your room it says eden & your room No & on the safe key it also as your room No, take these off and throw them in the safe then if you do by accident misplace your keys and there found by some unsaviory person they have no idea what hotel or room there for before you have even relised there missing.
will check out the reports & put a new 1 on.
jordan have a good 1 & please please let him know who it's from :D :D :D

There has been no problems for quite a while in the Eden(as regards break ins!) There have been safes forced recently in other complexes(i cannot mention the names) but quite quiet on the top of Puerto Rico.As i have mentioned so many times before....

1.Always bring travellers cheques and ¨NEVER BRING CASH¨
2.¨NEVER BRING EXPENSIVE JEWELLERY¨

and this is for the ladies.......
3.DON´T BRING 45 PAIRS OF SHOES WITH YOU ON HOLIDAY AS YOU KNOW YOU WON´T BE WEARING THEM ALL WILL YOU?

Marcus
 Are you listening Ladies? x

Another question im afraid, which beach is nearest the Eden apartments and which is the nicest beach on the island?

chorlton
27th June 2006, 10:50 AM
Both beaches are equidistant from where you are - a good walk downhill or alternatively a couple of euros in a cab. Puerto Rico main beach is gold sand - Amadores beach is crushed coral so doesn't tend to stick like sand - it also makes the water look really clear. The official Amadores site is here http://www.playa-amadores.com/ and you can see Puerto Rico beach in any holiday brochure. The beach at Anfi is very similar to the one at Amadores - the timeshare touts often use the line about coming to see the Caribbean beach and this is the one they mean.

I personally think the best beach by far is Anfi which you can get to easily via a short taxi ride away. My 2nd favourite would have to be Amadores. Have a good time!!

Anfi beach is a good 10mins taxi ride away, close to Patalavaca(i think) but well worth it.... it is gorgeous with lots of water sports, bars and restaurants.

It would take you probably about 20 mins or so to walk to Amadores from the Europa and it is all down hill so not a bad walk, but a definite taxi back!

I took travellers cheques for the first time last year and never found it a problem getting them changed.

Marcus, as for the shoes, green sliders to go with white crops and green top, sparkly flip flops to go with pink dress, trainers for trip to Mogan, all terrain sandals for in the sea at Amadores (sharp rocks), pool side shoes, shoes to travel in etc, etc, sorry Marcus. When I go to Greece I only take 2 pairs of sandals and shorts and t shirts, no lady clothes at all but in PR one can look under dressed without the correct gear.

I'd love to try it though!

When i nip to the Spar at about 7.30 - thinking about what to do for dinner and havent got a crucial item - there's me in scuffy jeans or what ever - everyone is just going out for dinner in all their glad rags - I feel decidely underdressed.

Sorry off topic

thanks for ur reply the reason im asking is for my 4 year old after a days sun he can be restless at night.do these fans keep the rooms nice and cool if left on through the day.have been in gran canaria b4 stayed at playa de ingles we all loved it.

mary
4th July 2006, 09:30 AM
The fans will just circulate the air. if you have direct sun into your apartment during the day, then make sure you close all the curtains during the day and then on your return, open everything up and get a through draught.
You could hire a bedside fan to put by your 4 year old which might help

4th July 2006, 07:33 PM
we stayed at eden may 2005, left the ceiling fans on all day and night and like mary said keep the curtains shut as this keeps the sun out. our little girl was 5 at the time, slept in the lounge on her own and was quite happy and cool with the fan going all night!

Hi Kate,
hope you have a great time , the pool loungers are free but if you want a matress they are 1 euro a day & the pool area usually starts filling up between 10am / 11am when the kids have woken and had there brekkie,
there is something going on round the pool everyday usually from around midday, water arobics, fashion shows, killer pool, water polo & the best part of the day is 4pm/5pm which is happy hour (buy 1 you get 1 free) & bingo so you can chill out with a your cocktail while having a game of bingo ( it's not bad usually goes to well over 100 euro for the 3rd game)

Bingo went to 185euro while i was there, i won 10, better than nothing though! 'the balls have been shaken and not stirred' 3 times a day, every day for 14 days, no wonder it was getting a bit tedious!

I can't lie, it is going to be warm on a night. I presume with 6 of you, that 2 are sleeping in the lounge? We've done 5 of us in a 2 bed apartment and it was warm.

Have you considered hiring fans? You can order them via this site and they will be there for when you arrive - they then collect them after you leave. http://holidayhire.canaryforum.com/products.html

For the last two years there have been ceiling fans in the one bedroom apartments and presume there are in the two bed ones. There is a number for the Eden on the site, you can always ring them to check. The reception staff are very helpful.

Read Some Good Reviews For The Eden and We Are Thinking Of Staying Here. What Are The Room Types - How Many Do They Sleep?

fiona12
17th September 2006, 08:04 PM
The Eden consists of either 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom apartments with the majority of 1 bedroom ones being on the upper floor with a large balcony with table and four chairs and two sunbeds and all 2 bedroom ones on the ground floor with a terrace with table and sunbeds.

The 1 bed has a bedroom with twin beds and there are two single sofa beds in the living area. Would recommend a maximum of 3 adults or 2 adults and up to 2 children.

The 2 bed has 2 bedrooms with twin beds in each and, again, sofa beds in the lounge. Have not stayed in a 2 bedroom so would not know how many they could sleep max. Would say max 5 adults or 2 adults and up to 3 kids. It depends how cramped you mind being or how much time you intend to spend in them.

hi as we been there 3 time we had 3 diferant room, away had ground floor as all 2 bedroomed are on ground floor, we had room 13, 19 and just had 26, all are in the square round the pool, so central, but also noisy, as you can here entertainmnet till it ends, 26 is right next to kiddies playground, n just round corner to pool ect, which we liked although as its there you get everyone passing all the time. inc at night.
you should try n opt for a room number below 80 i think then you should be round the compex centre, not away from it, as theres 116 rooms altogther, but dont quaute me as i say alll the room we had were ground floor round pool area, loved it and want to go back just have to persuade hubby to go

Hiya

I have just been looking at these apartments for FEB, where abouts are they i stayed in Riosol last time.
Is the pool a nice temp in winter for kids to swim in it does say heated in brochure.
Are they a good choice for families my kids are 6yr and 17 months.
My other choice coming up is the canaima but they look very basic

Thanks vicky

hi vicky re eden,
pool isnt heated its also deep no kids end as such, but that doesnt stop kids using it mine did and youngest is 3, its a case of once u in its fine, but yeah its cold, there is a small pool for kids but it is small n also cold, re stuff to do for the little1 theres a soft play area you can also borrow stuff from kids club books ect, the rep are great as the 6yr will be able to go in the clubs, nightly there is a kids mini disco starting at about 8.30, then depending there sometime quiz games b4 the nightly show, which varys from, reptiles, to parrots to singers and magic, diferant show each night, the food on site is cheep and really nice. the staff are fantasic cant say a bad word about them, god you think i was ion comission for them im not we been ther3 time and are hoping toi go back in nov, many many go back year after year, have a look at
http://www.thomsonbeach.co.uk/th/beach/viewAccommodation.do?accommodationCode=002475&seasonCode=S2007&brochureCode=TH66&ito=1556&itc=97&referrer=google

this is thompson web site reviews , there is some real bad review re eden but real good 1s too i guess like all places, some like it some dont. its nice as its away from all the noise, but close enough to go to eurpoa centre for a change, and taxis are cheep to and from main centre beach ect, any thing else i can think of ill let you no

Vicky

I posted in another section aswell, but do you know what feb is like heat wise?
I was originally looking at fuerteventura but im thinking gran canaria will be hotter as there isnt the wind that fuerteventura has am i right.....only been in summer before never done a winter holiday.

Thanks for all your help, i booked the Eden really looking forward to it, love PR not been for 2yrs just prying its hot!!!!
I booked a flight only with Thomson and the eden as Accomodation only with them and saved over £200 so if your going back you might want to look into that, booked the taxi through owen so should be nice and easy at the airport like last time we used it.

Anyway the brochure says heated main pool so might rip page out and take it with me if it isnt heated and compain....was it winter when you went?

Thanks, bit misleading then i only really booked it cos it said heated pool.......should have listen to robbiesangel when she (i am assuming) said it wasnt heated.
Not too bothered about me but i have a 17month old......he does have a sun wetsuit from when we went to turkey in the summer so hopefully that will keep him a bit warmer.......anyway im praying for gorgeous weather so it wont matter!!!!
