Why are Fortuna so cheap there ? in Pamla de Mallorca they are 22.50 per 200 ???

and Marlboro Lights are 24.50 here !

Are the prices the same throughout the canary islands ?

The canary islands ARE a part of the European Community/Union! There are certain rules though that do not apply for the canary islands. An example is the rules about taxfree goods, where the islands are situated so far away from the community it is not categorized as a part of the European community. The canary islands is also an independant/self-regulated region and that means that Spain has trouble deciding over the laws on the islands -and in other spanish regions for that matter. But they are members under Spanish law.

And art.299,2 in the treaty.;)

Prices are cheap, and vary a small amount, but limits are low. You can only take 200 cigarettes back, rather than unlimited in the rest of Europe. The prices are much lower in resorts and the hypermarkets than at the airport.

Oh yes. Dont buy on the plane on the way out, as cigarettes are so much cheaper here.
