Good evening viewers!
Well while Mary has been "drying her clothes" in the North of the island i have a marvelous weather report for today (30theDecember 05)
So after fruit juice and coffee served on my balcony before 09.00 this morning it was then off to Palmitos park once again viewers! The weather was glorious! Blue skies with a bit of cloud(about 25 degrees)as i strolled round the park chatting to various "tropical birds" all morning viewers!(:bronwen: )lol
Then a delicious lunch in the sunshine(Pizza, rice pudding mmm) and a snooze under a palm tree to finish the afternoon off! what a gorgeous day,a bit chilly in the shade but lovely sunshine for most of the day folks.
So much better than the scene from Gatwick Airport at the same time this morning of freezing weather and misserable!!!

Good afternoon viewers!
Another glorious day folks! i popped out for a "late afternoon daily stroll" only to be "lynched" outside my very own front gate by "Libbyo" viewers.(we discussed cat buscuits and kiwi fruit) and then it was off for the stroll...A cooler day than normal(about 26 degrees) the sun was shining and the skies were blue but a bit of haze about. The walk way to amadores was busy with an "International cast"(including myself viewers)
The perfect day for walking or photography.I noticed several people photographing the lizards from behind the rocks until one Lady got most upset and told holiday makers that they werent lizards but a "komodo Dragon" breeding ground.(i stepped in viewers to tell the lady how ridiculous the whole thing was and to get on with her holiday.) Sorry i'm waffling!( ) anyway just to recap,
A wonderful day,you couldn't get anything more perfect viewers!

used to get that effect in Dubai Mary  - its the RH that does it. Compared to the UK, the higher all round temperatures with such a high moisture content in the air itself for a much longer period than uk does it. Answer is air conditionng or dehumidifiers indoors. In Dubai it had to be air conditioning - 50°C in the shade is a bit much to bear

Flooding hits Gran Canaria again
Gran Canaria's wet winter continued on Tuesday with some of the heaviest rain seen in years. The town of Telde was worst affected by the torrential downpours, which left 100 litres of water per square metre and caused major subsidence, including the collapse of several roadside walls.
5 major roads were closed and 30 schools in various parts of the island sent pupils home for the day due to the flooding or communications problems caused by the heavy rain, which lasted much of Tuesday. Despite the chaos, Gran Canaria's Roads Department insisted that the damage had been much less than feared, given the drainage modifications ordered after the last major floods prevented a repeat of the serious effects suffered in the resorts in the south of the island.

Jan and feb can be changeable. Hopefully you'll be lucky and get a good week - we often get a calima (sirocco) during feb whicj would mean a hot and sunny week. Otherwise it should be warmish but chilly in the evenings.

I would'nt take to much notice of the forecast. Most of the forecasts available on the net are for Las Palmas. Although only about 40 miles north of the Southern resorts the weather can vary greatly. On some days the difference is unbelievable with Las Palmas up to 8 C cooler. The North of the island see's a lot more rain too.
Generally at this time of the year it's shorts and tee shirt by day, and jeans and a light jacket by night. Just look at the daily postings regarding the weather by both Mary and Marcus for accuracy !!!!

There has been more cloud over Playa this past week and usually Puerto Rico has more sunshine than that of playa just around the corner. But then, usually the south is better than the north but last saturday was great in the north and horrible in the south.

Try going to www.weathergrancanaria.com (http://www.weathergrancanaria.com) and opening web-cam (overlooking beach and sea) and see for yourself! Its got all the weather data you need on it. I've been (rather sadly I admit) looking at it daily while at work since December, and Marcus's reports always co-incide with the warmest and nicest looking days on the web-cam.
As for temperatures, usually peaking between 22-25c, but note the sun strength (UV levels) up to 8.7 so far this year, 8 would be exceptional for the UK on the very hottest days in June/July for the UK, so be careful, someone pale like me will burn in just 15 mins at that level.:angryfire:

Happy Easter Viewers!
Monday 17th April(Not a bank holiday over here)
Well good evening to you all,i hope you are not all still "stuffed" on easter eggs?We don't seem to have them here in Spain,so not a "Sniff" of an easter egg or even a sexy "easter bunny" with floppy ears and stiletto heels came crawling towards my apartment door(No luck viewers:sadguy: )
Anyway let's get on with todays weather..........
A splendid day,the sun was shining for most of the day, a lot of cloud about(rather hazy) quite warm at times. After an "eventful" morning it was nice to enjoy a late afternoon siesta by the pool side with a "delicious peach" and a "Sparkling mineral water"(with a slice of lemon)
most pleasant.

Another lovely day here in GC. North and south. A few clouds up the valley but as usual, hopefully they'll stay there and not come down to the beach.
Easter eggs could be found in BIG and lovely Lindt chocolate bunnies could be found in Al Campo. Noone bought me one and so I never wore my bunny ears

It is a bit "nippy" today so a very good day for doing something active out in the sun! Maybe Iīll find out where m y daily stroll will go from now on... So far I have only strolled around for shopping and my wallet is suffering from it!!! Maybe a stroll down to the beach....after the siesta.. or maņana!!!;)

Ended up in another shopping center yesterday - well Iīll find the beach some time soon I guess.
Today was windy here in Playa del Ingles but still able to wear shorts and tee. Had a little trouble with the wind turning the pages of my book, though. Well I do have very big problems, eih!!

An absolutely fantastic day in PDI today!!! At one time I saw 30 degrees displayed on one of those temp poles. It had been even hotter earlier.
Lovely stroll down to the beach which was packed!! Yes, I finally found my way down to the beach!!! Only to walk back home, as Iīm not really a beach person. Donīt have the patience - but next time maybe if I bring a book..

Hello Viewers!!:glare:
How are you all today? enjoying the "drizzle" in the uk?
Well the weather has been very good all week,"roasting" in Palmitos park on Friday(whilst talking to the "yellow beaked toucan")(a tropical american bird)
And this afternoon was glorious as i(myself) relaxed at the poolside with an orange, banana and a yoghurt. A peaceful afternoon was disturbed at times by neighbours displaying there ongoing"marital problems" from there balcony( and loud enough to fill wembley arena)
32 degrees and sunny all day with a pleasant but strong breeze at times.

Cloudy and windy on the north today but hot hot hot in the south. Lovely temperature by the evening though. Nice to sit on the terrace and watch the cars whizzing around the roundabout at the top of PR
