My husband and i plus 2 children are looking for a 2 bedroom apartment in Puerto Rico,we prefer to be close to the shopping centre so we don't have to rely on taxis. We have had a few quotes from our local travel agencies, but the price they quoted was unbelievable.
We would be so pleased if anyone can help.
Thanks Elaine

See what Owen has got on this sitehttp://www.islascanariastours.com/index.html (http://www.islascanariastours.com/index.html)
Send him a PM and see what he can offer you.
I find he is usually cheaper than the UK

Anybody looking for accommodation and prices - if you post the dates you're thinking about I'm always happy to answer with a quote as well.

Montecarlo definately the closest. Monaco and Vallemar are other choices though each a couple of streets up so though 5-10 minute walk down, maybe a bit too much up again with the kids in tow.

Hi,

Vallemar is lower level but still a couple of streets up so not ideal for walking difficulties.

email me reservation stuff at info@canaryforum.com so I can get more detailed info on what you need, what wouldn't be suitable etc...

We are going to the Rio Piedras thru Eclipse Direct early Sept. They are down in the bottom of the valley....a 10 min walk from the Commercial Centre. These have 2 bed apartments and recently refurbished. Good reviews on Holidays Uncovered.

stayed at vallemar last time i went....think we have different ideas as to what "slightly up the hill means"....i thought it was miles!!

Sorry! I think of up the hill as being somewhere towards the Europa or beyond!

Marina and Morasol are situated by the marina. Imagine you are stood on PR beach looking out to sea - they are over to the far left. Bit nicer than the Vallemar and consequently a higher price but everyone who goes raves about them.
You can find some fab pics of them on Rabs site http://www.rab.c.fotopic.net/c337618.html marina
http://www.rab.c.fotopic.net/c553260.html morasol

I know this place very well and it's no good for people with dodgy knees for sure. Whichever way you come in there are steep steps and inclines.
Look at the view from the master bedroom and you'll see how high up you are.

Rio Piedras can be hell depending on which apartment you're allocated as the lifts don't go to all floors and the pool's on the top.

Portonovo do 2 bedrooms, but they're over the shops/restaurants and can be noisy, but they have lifts and are in a cracking position.

If I were you I'd go with the Morasol, Marina Suites or Niza suggestions to be safe.

I'm confused. The link to the place on the learntotype/grancan - is that in the Jamaica complex. Isnt that the complex just across the road from the end of the park, near La Parada. Thats low down - but then if the apartment is at the back of the complex, then it would be slightly higher up, I suppose

The Jamaica complex is not on a hill at all. It is on ground level - opposite the main commerical centre (well just along from it).
Only steps are those going up to your actual apartment - 15 steps at most?
Very very nice complex indeed. Apartment is beautiful, it's like a wee house. Would definitley recommend it.
There is a little supermarket attached to the complex for all your food and drink needs.
Pool is a good size and is kept clean. The bonus with this place is that is mostly residential, so the pool is usually quiet. We got it to ourselves most of the time.
Although, because it is a residential complex you can't be making too much noise at nights!
Hope you have a great holiday :)

That accommodation advertised is at the back of the complex, is on a hill and the rear bedroom is just under pavement level opposite Arizona.

I've stayed there many times, at different times of the year, and some of the things you used there are probably mine.

Go in from the entrance opposite the park and the steps are a killer, the Netto entrance has 2 flights and the rear one is from up the hill opposite Arizona.

The owner is a lovely guy and I'll be forever grateful for the better staircase because the others were like climbing Everest:nodding:

It's mainly Spanish residents, tho' there are Irish, Chinese, Japanese, German and Scottish there.

The kids go crazy at weekends when the families all come down from Las Palmas, they have late night barbecues and get-togethers and it can be very noisy but it's good fun.

Have we got the same place?

I think we are talking about different places all together to be honest.
There are only a few steps up to the apartment where i stayed. Nothing like the steepness you get when staying at the top of the hills.

Maybe not, different perspectives I guess.

Hi, Mary! Yes, that's it, just up on the left from the roundabout; the main entrance is up the steps next to that nice little Netto.

They actually start with the bungalows and pool at ground level as you come down from McD's, then the rest are tiered.

The car space is at the back and getting luggage back up those stairs is a nightmare

Next time I'm there you can have a guided tour ;)

got to admit i thought the jamaica site was all ground level. its academic now as its booked for when i was looking so back to square 1 i guess

starting to think might have to scrap the holiday...everywhere seems much more expensive than when ive been before. was looking to spend £300 ish on accomodation for a week and cant find many places doing it for that price.

Try the Vistamar. It's on the flat facing the beach, just before where the big red boat is.

Spent two weeks there in July and it was great. Would recommend it.
