Has anyone have had cats running around when you come home at midnight?! One night when we came home there was a black kitten running about so we gave it a bit of food, it seemed to eat in really fast, i felt so sorry for it!
Then the next night at the same time it came back but bought 2 of his friends!! We fed 2 of them then by the time the 3rd come along we could only give it water. They were really funny, they were running around like mad in our room! Has anyone else ever had this?!

We stayed at the Colina Mar and there was a few there too! They would take a little stroll around all us sunbather's. Nobody seemed to mind though, they were harmless.
I miss PR so much :sadguy::sad:

Bloody pain in the bum. I'm allergic to cats but don't hate them. One day( at the Roslara) we feed this stray kitten and in the middle of the night it must have climbed through the open window looking for more food and dived on top of me while i was asleep. I jumped out out of bed so fast i didn't have a clue what it was.

The cats in Gran Canaria are lucky compared to Greece. We once stayed in Kos and we passed this skip and i could hear crying. Two new born kittens had been dumped in the rubbish on a red hot day and left to die.All i could do was jump in ( god i stunk) get the poor things and then we took them the the beach and drowned them to save them any more suffering.Needless to say i've never returned to Greece

These are feral cats, please DONT feed them as it encourages them to stay around.
However sorry you feel for them they are wild. Just let nature takes its course with them, they help keep down the mice population if you dont feed them, if you do feed them they dont kill the mice therefore the next thing you will be doing is complaining about having mice all over the place.

There are loads of cats in and around the Babalu. The staff here feed the cats at regular times every day and advise holidaymakers not to feed them or try to stroke them.
There is some organization on GC that runs a neutering program to keep the number of cats down.
I was told they keep cockroaches at bay 'cause they eat them!!! which if true, is only a good thing :)

Thanks everyone! Yeah i know, we knew we shouldnt feed them and we wont next time, its ok! I really like cats so i feel sorry for them, its hard! When they came in our appartment they somehow got behind the fridge and all followed each other behind it, we were really scared coz didnt know what was behind there! But they all came out ok! Thats really sad about what happens in Greece.
My first holiday was to Majorca and we walked past a corner full of bushes and there were about 6 cats there hanging about wiv a couple of chickens or cocks whateva they were, and everyone walking past were stopping to look. It weren't sad it was just funny! Anyway...!
Thanks for the info everyone!

was at guanabara park in february and the cats followed us home every night.:banghead:
if you fed them they would not leave your door and i think this keeps the cockroaches away.

Now, if the staff feed the cats its not because they are cuddly, and I would guess there are more cockroaches than mice in P.C.
How many Brits would like to see a lot less cockroaches? most people? Then the recommendation is, Keep feeding the cats.
:thankyou:
