Can anyone tell me where these are? I am trying to book somewhere for my parents with no steps, would these be suitable?

they are on the europa centre side of the valley, about half way up, if i remember rightly, (was a few years ago i stayed there) there weren't any steps but its a fair walk to the Europa centre and its uphill, but saying that a taxi up there or down to the beach is only a few euros, prob less than 5.

anyone who stayed here lately should be able to give you more info!

There are actually quite a lot of steps within the apartment block but that is pretty much standard fare in Puerto Rico - if does have a lift which services the floors but its quite small. If your parents have mobility problems this is not for you.

Are you looking for cheap and cheerful or is money no object? If you are prepared to spend a bit more I would suggest Marina Suites or Morasol which are new built complexes with decent lifts and also built on the flat. Taxis are cheap and plentiful so no need to worry about them getting around the resort itself but if they want a hotel that is totally on the flat to start with your choices are more limited.

just back from puerto rico, stayed in the mayaguez apts, no steps or hills and just a few mins walk from both the beach and the commercial centre. we could see the puerto plata from ours and they looked a fair bit up the hills

Can anyone tell me where these are? I am trying to book somewhere for my parents with no steps, would these be suitable? The P Plata are on a hill with a lot of steps I would suggest the Marina Suites (have stayed there four times ) on the level and available through this site at a very good price

Hi...lots of steps to the puerto plata im afraid.......the only 'level' places are;

Marina Suites(but are repairing the hill above the pool area so..check)
Morasol Suites....excellent, manager is Martin and their direct no is+34 928 153086
El greco...by the beach, refurbished last year........

I can only talk about the Morasol though as they are the ones ive stayed in......absolutely fab.....have booked for this December already with my 68 year old mother...........no accessibiliyt problems whatsoever

Hey

I'm coming over to PR, GC on Monday (only a few days to go!!) for the first time and am staying in the Puerto Plata with the GF. We're not overly concerned about the steps - just want to make sure that the accomodation is ok and that we're reasonably close enough to the beach, restaurants etc...

We booked through Portland Holidays (part of TUI I later found out) and according to their site, it meets our criteria. Can anyone back them up?

Also, does anyone know the layout of the apartments, we know which apartment were in and just wondered what the view would be like!!

So many questions I know, but I'm really looking forward to getting away for the week, and PR seems ever so nice. Just hope it won't let us down!!

hi timmy
have lots of photos i took a month ago of the puerto plata that i can send you if you want.
i am putting them on my site when i get a bit more time but if you pm me an emil address ill attach and send to you.
there was a vast amount of work going on around the pool and step areas also the bar at the pool was being renovated more or less rebuilt interior. but work should be complete now
there are lifts in the complex and at the pool level there are a few steps then a lift which takes you down to an incline just up from the post office on the road up to the revoli playa.
