totally agree , and also with the dreaded Mcds and breville toasties , give me a fish meal from the harbour in arguenguin or even just a plate of canarian cheese with olives and i am sorted , and a few pints :boozy:, i know a place in Lanzarote in PDC that used to do Haggis :D:D

Where did you get your cheese and olives from?

i got it from a small place in Patalavaca and also between Patalvaca and Arguineguin on the prom and have had it elsewhere on the other islands , first had it in Fuerte when i noticed the locals eating it for lunch and that time i got sun dried toms and it was drizzled with olive oil and also rustique bread it was too die for and last time i was in fuerte i went back 4 times in a week for it

if you find a traditional place or even a italian NOT BRITISH and look on teh starters of the a la carte its normally there

Canarian potatoes are like new potatoes or sometimes like mini baked potatoes.

Mojo Sauce
Peel and section one whole, small clove of garlic
Add 1 large table-spoon of cumin powder
Add 1 large table-spoon of paprika
Add 1 large table-spoon of sea-salt
Add a little olive-oil and grind all of it into a paste
(make sure you grind out all the lumps of garlic!)
Scrape the mixture into a blender. Use more olive-oil to get all the mixture out.
Add to the blender 1/2 a red pepper, finely chopped and blend.
add another 1/2 chopped, red pepper and blend
add another 1/2 chopped, red pepper and blend
add another 1/2 chopped, red pepper and blend (so 2 whole red peppers in the end)
add more olive oil to dilute as required or leave it as above for nice and spicey
.................................................. ...........................................
Papas Arrugadas
(Wrinkled Potatoes)
2Kg (5lbs) small to medium potatoes unpeeled (50 - 75mm; {2 - 3"})
200 gram (7 1/4 oz.) Sea salt
1) Wash the potatoes. Because they are in their 'jackets' you must wash
them well.
2) Put salt in a large saucepan
3) Add water to a depth of about 3.5 cm (1 1/2")
3) Add potatoes (they do not have to be immursed in the water)
4) Cover the potatoes (not the pan) with a tea cloth (or cabbage leaves)
5) Boil slowly for about 20 minutes.
6) Drain and steam dry over low heat. (a white salt layer should form on
the potatoes and they should be slightly wrinkled)

When finished, coat potatoes with a layer of mojo sauce and you have
Canarian "Papas con Mojo"
