Patalavaca beach - through the tunnel and turn right there are a few restaurants there - 2pm on a Sunday, restaurant makes a huge one. If you arrive early you can watch the chef making it.
Also good paella on meloneras beach - the main restaurant on the left (if you are standing on the beach looking up)
The little individual ones tend to be microwave individually wrapped. Safe to eat but not as good as the real thing.

If you feel really adventurous buy a paelleria - sort of gas burner with 2 rings (on einside the other), detachable legs and a paella dish - large frying pan and take it home - better than a barbeque and easy to do if everyone helps out with the preparing. You can do a chicken based one if people dont like shellfish

not sure which one Mary means on Patalavaca , but all i can say get there early , having stayed at the Green Beach there , on a Sunday the amount of people coming from the German hotel and Arguinguin is amazing and the beach is very busy and they start getting there early morning and its a constant throng all day

agree with what she says about the individual , and thats why i suggested visting the restaraunt before hand, obviously as the sunday one in Patalavaca ia a weekly event that wouldnt apply

it would cost a couple of €'s to get ataxi from the commercial centre in Rico or there is the bus

Think as what Mary said that the single portion ones tend to be Frozen , maybe be worth going to speak to the owner or chefs at that El Gaitero(sorry if spelt wrong) the day before or even a few days before to see if they will do it for you , as you plug them so much LOL and they are making a lot of custom they should do

when i lived in tenerife a friend in the local village i lived in who ran a restaraunt said that all walk in and order paella were 99% Frozen or PING food (microwaved) but ones that you had to give 24hrs or more notice were fresh and the best on the island , a place in the small village i lived was reknown for their Paella , Goat and Rabbit but all had to be 24hr notice but was worth the wait and was heaving with local tenerife people every night

just a suggestion maybe the fishermans cafe on the harbour at Arguineguin will do a single one as a walk in and i would say it would be brilliant as the fish there is wonderful so seafood paella may be excellent as well

Very true. Too busy eating t-bone to think of paella. Dont know why but paella is a lunch dish, rather than dinner, but hey I will ask Ramon.

Cant recommend a good one, but Bubbles in the CC was recommended to me.
My opinion, dont bother trying Paella there. We had ordered it the previous day for 2 people, but I'm not sure it was necessary. Tasted like Batchelors savory rice dressed with a selection of fine seafood.
1 out 10.

Only one place to go for proper authentic paella is the COFRADIA RESTAURANT on the fish quay down at P. Mogan. You have to walk around the harbour to the right as you face the sea. Take time to order a day in advance, this truly is a lovely place to eat, the quality is supurb as is everything else on their menu.

The best paella I have eaten anywhere (mainland Spain) or otherwise was in Balcon Canaria in the main CC last easter. The paella was for two adults, cost 20 euros (for two) and could have fed an army. It is packed with chicken, fish and other goodies. It took approximately one hour to cook, but as it is made from scratch and not microwaved like a few other establishments its well worth the wait. And if you cant eat it on the night they'll pop the leftovers in a doggie bag. Enjoy.:nodding:

Dont know about PR, But if you do visit Playa Mogan,on your holiday, on the portside, there is the LOCAL FISH SHOP, on the back row just over the bridge from the beach, They own the fish restaurant next door to their fish shop. And its the Best Paella and fish restaurant going. It was featured recently on (spanish TV,) Showing the chef cooking all manner of local dishes.

I've not eaten it personally but seen lots of people order it at El Pescador - upper level of the CC.
