Hi
Myself, hubby and two teenage kids are visiting Puerto rico 22nd July for 2 weeks. Our hotel does not have air conditioning would it be advisable to get a fan as we are getting worried about the heat at that time of year? Also can anybody recommend any good seafood restaurants? Also can anyone give advice of good things to see and do with 2 teenagers?
Thanks in advance:packed:

Hi there! Firstly you can hire fans without any problems. It is going to be hot 30 degrees plus and a couple of fans would be nice. Which hotel are you staying in by the way? You can hire fans via this site - here's the link http://holidayhire.canaryforum.com/.
I'll leave the seafood recommendations to someone else as I'm not a fish eater however you should get some suggestions from the other members.
How old are the teenagers? Just 13 or 19 and ready to be in the bars/clubs etc? Assuming they are somewhere in the middle of that range during the day there is the beach (obviously), boat trips, diving, waterparks (the one at Maspalomas - a short bus ride away seems to be most popular), local markets. Evening time in Puerto Rico is mainly focussed around the shopping centres that house the bars and restaurants however lots of places have entertainment on, pool tables, football/sports showing.
Post a few more details about yourselves and we should be able to add some more suggestions.

Yes, fans are essential, most hotels have them for hire, make contact with your hotel & reserve what you need. If you are staying high up, you may get a cooling breeze but don't bank on it, I was there in September and there was not a breath of wind at all. There are many seafood restaurants which are all very good, although other postings on this site recommend that the fishing village of Mogan has the best seafood restaurants of all. There are a lot of attactions & I'm quite sure your teenagers will not be bored.

Great place to stay, I was there a few years ago, ask for a high floor apartment, it will save a whole lot of steps because there is only one lift and if its full its a long wait. The entrance is at the top, & the bus stop is right outside, but you will not need it for food shopping as the supermarket is only two minutes walk away.

You can find some pics on Rabs site here http://www.rab.c.fotopic.net/c332561.html
Close to the Europa centre and don't be worried that its at the top of a hill most places are in Puerto Rico - taxis are cheap and plentiful and only a couple of euros to either the Commercial Centre or either of Puerto Ricos beaches.
