IS there any charges for loungers and parasols on the beach? Benidorm, Falaraki, Magaluf, Malia all charged....

:banghead:

Oh Yes. Can't remember how much but it can be an expensive time if you and your family go to the beach everyday. That's why it pays to have good apartments with a nice pool area. The sunshine is free.

It depends on the season as well - I am sure they are slightly more in summer than during winter. Amadores beach the other week were 1.5 euros for a lounger and I think 2.5 for the umbrella

I've no problem paying for the immaculately kept toilets/showers at Amadores. We British could learn a lot on how to keep public facilities in tip top condition from the Canarian people!!!!!!!!

Right on, BIG TONY Amadores is the cleanest beach I have known, and whoever thought of crushed coral for the beach should be given a medal.
A real joy when it is hot hot, no need for duck boards hear.:nodding:

Yeah, we visited Amadores beach on many occasions and seem to remember it was about €2.50 for the loungers and €1.50 for a parasol. Well worth it!

I hope you mean 2.5 for both?

I thought that they were higher than 1.50 Euro.

ok, its in line with benidorm, magaluf, malia, falaraki. I dont mind paying for a well kept beach, so fair enough.

Not going to be there everyday anyway so dont mind it too much. 6E or so a day is hardly a slap anyway, especially if your spending 4-6 hours 'relaxing'/ 'tanning' etc

Personally I dont like the sand on Amadores - I find the bits too big - but maybe I'm picky nowdays.

I like the fact that each beach has its own sand story. I cant remember where PR got its sand but at Anfi, the sand was picked from a choice of 200. Its from the caribbean and is the only white sand that is fine and doesnt get hot underfoot.

I never realised there was such a difference in sand

Depends on the time of year I believe.

4 euros for the lounger and the parasol and well worth the money but if you go down about 4 ish you can usually get one for free. The cost of the loungers goes to the council who keep this beach immaculate and despite the many litter bins the loutish element leave all their rubbish on the beach at the end of the day, stub out their cigarettes in the sand. It's just part of the holiday costs and if for 4 euros people want to slum it on a towel or deny themselves a day on the beach then it's their choice, it's a small cost against the holiday budget.

Over the last few years we've spent less time on the beaches. I'ts not the cost ( although this can add up) i just find it more relaxing at the apartment pool.I suppose if with we were younger with kids we'd be at the beach every day.I don't think i'm denying myself a good holiday to safe a few pennies.

It's each to their own isn't it, I love the beach and sea swimming, people watching and then to Maximo's for bruscetta and big beer then back to the lounger under the brolly for a little sleep.:)

Just back last night - we paid 2.5 for a lounger but didn't bother with a parasol so don't know how much that was.

We paid 2.50 each for a parasol & 2.00 for the umbrella on Amadores when we were there.

They were worth it! The beach is fabulous with lovely restaurants/bars.

We used the toilets in Sunset diving as gar was doing a course with them, so even when he wasn't diving we were able to get a nice cold drink & sarnie from Avril and lie in peace on the beach!

Can't wait to go back in september :boozy:
