i stayed at the Tamaimo Tropical a few years ago , it was when they were stating to make the area more tourist friendly and there was another hotel SANTIAGO i think which was a german hotel and all teh entertainment was in its own amphitheratre , and a few bars , since then it has grown into Los Gigantes BUT is still veru quiet Los Gigantes has a few bars and rstaraunts but not the amt las americas or los christianos has ,

so to sum up for a relaxing hloiday its great and Los Gigantes is peaceful , no yobs etc but can get boring you will need a car

my parents go to Los Gigantes and they are in the 70's which is about the age of a lot of people who go to the resort

We stayed at the Tamaimo too a few xmas's ago, would have to agree with what Steve has said. We did have a hire car and toured out from here after a few days, the hotel was well acceptable though with a nice bar in the middle of the heated pool accessed by a bridge.

yep forgot about the bar , i wasnt impressed with the food but as i was one HB had to lump it , in Los Gigantes there are a few good places to eat and by the marina there a few bars/restarauts

herad the Green Corner there has gone right down hill , but theres was a small scottish bar as well nearby

BUT definately get a car as you need to see Teide and teh surrounding area , even if you hire one for a few days and the Loro Parque at Puerto de la cruz is a must and especially for kids and teh bus to PDLC is very expensive from Puerto Santiago
